Available Grants

Osteopathic International Medicine Education Fund

The purpose of this fund is to provide educational opportunities to family medicine students, residents and family physicians who have an interest in learning about volunteer opportunities and/or knowledge sharing about osteopathic family medicine outside the United States.

Recipients: Medical students, Residents, Physicians

Awards:
This award will cover session expenses, including travel and honoraria.

Dates open: Rolling.

AOF/ACOFP Foundation Family Medicine Research Grant

This grant supports the advancement of the profession through research and education by awarding a grant of $10,000 to an osteopathic family medicine resident or fellow in training.

Recipients: Residents or Fellows in Training

Awards:
$10,000 split into two installments.

Dates open: Mid-Summer to Fall.

Natural Disaster

The ACOFP Foundation’s Natural and Personal Disaster Fund was developed to assist members in resupplying their practices in the event of a natural or personal disaster.

Recipients: Members impacted by natural or personal disasters

Dates open: Rolling

OMT Certification Grant for Practicing Physicians

Physicians who completed initial certification within the last 10 years and who did not take the practical exam are eligible for up to $1000 in funding to complete the OMT portion of the exam. These funds will cover exam fees and up to $500 in travel costs.

Initial Certification Grant for Residents

The grant will award up to $1,400 for exam fees and travel expenses to residents who don’t have complete funding support from their program to be used for the AOBFP exam.

Dates open: Applications will be accepted until February 28, 2026.

In-Service Exam (ISE) Support

Supports residents pursuing the osteopathic pathway to Family Medicine board Certification by funding two Osteopathic In-Service Exams (ISE)

Recipients: First & second-year residents

Awards:
Two fully paid In-Service Exams

Dates open: June through August Annually.
