ACOFP

The ACOFP Foundation serves as the charitable arm of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). While ACOFP focuses on advancing the profession of osteopathic family medicine, the ACOFP Foundation supports these efforts through scholarships, grants, and programs aimed at fostering the next generation of osteopathic family physicians and promoting the values of the profession. Together, we work to ensure the continued growth and excellence of osteopathic family medicine. Partnerships include programs such as Future Leaders, In-Service Exam Support, and preceptorship, to name a few.

ACOFP California

Since 2023, the ACOFP Foundation and ACOFP-California have partnered to support Family Medicine residents by offering a unique program that facilitates their pathway to osteopathic board certification without financial barriers. For example, this collaboration ensures that first- and second-year Family Medicine residents can pursue the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) osteopathic pathway by taking the required two formative assessments, also qualifying them for the AOBFP Early Entry Initial Certification program. American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF)

The American Osteopathic Foundation is dedicated to advancing the osteopathic profession through various forms of support including scholarships, research grants, and community health initiatives. The foundation works to foster the growth and development of osteopathic medicine by recognizing and supporting students, physicians, and programs that demonstrate a commitment to the holistic principles of osteopathic medicine. With its focus on promoting wellness and preventive health care, the AOF actively contributes to enhancing patient care and community health outcomes, aligning with the broader goals of advancing the osteopathic philosophy across the healthcare industry. Given the strategic synergies, the ACOFP Foundation and AOF partner on a variety of initiatives. The AOF was a seminal, diamond partner who helped kick off the ACOFP Foundation's $2M Initial Certification Fund in an effort to ensure osteopathic distinctiveness for years to come through AOBFP certification.

The ACOFP Foundation serves as an ongoing supporter of the AOF through sponsorship of the AOF Gala and an annual contribution to the Jeffrey Grove, DO, LGBTQ+ Pride Scholarship.

Family Medicine Education Consortium

The ACOFP Foundation annually supports scholarships for osteopathic students attending the Family Medicine Education Consortium (FMEC) annual meeting.  This support ensures that osteopathic medical students can gain exposure to family medicine and primary care, experience presenting posters, and apply to family medicine residency programs they meet at the meeting’s Residency Fair.

IPCEA

International Primary Care Educational Alliance

The International Primary Care Educational Alliance (IPCEA) was established through a collaboration between the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF), Heart to Heart International (HHI), and later, the ACOFP Foundation. Initiated in 2006, the program aimed to share osteopathic family medicine practices with Chinese healthcare professionals. Key AOF and ACOFP leaders, including led delegations to China to provide medical education and training, helping to establish primary care services in regions with limited access. The IPCEA program, supported by ACOFP Foundation and Welch-Allyn, has since trained hundreds of Chinese physicians, who now serve as leaders in their communities. The program continues to receive support, including from the Royce Keilers Foundation.
