Biography & Education


Paul A Martin, DO, FACOFP dist., a board-certified family physician residing in Beavercreek, Ohio, is a recognized leader within the medical profession in Ohio and across the nation. He was the Founding President and Past Board Member of Providence Medical Group, an independent, physician-owned, and governed multi-specialty physician group in the greater Dayton area, serving urban, suburban, and rural demographic areas. He is knowledgeable about health care financing, including Medicare and Medicaid programs, and is currently the AOA Advisor to the AMA Resource Based Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC), which annually reviews and recommends to CMS relative value updates for medical, surgical, and diagnostic services. 

Dr. Martin received his undergraduate degree in Biology, cum laude, and a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Dayton. He earned his medical degree, cum laude, from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1977. He completed his post-graduate training at Grandview/Southview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, and obtained his family medicine board certification and recertification through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Additionally, he became a Fellow and a Distinguished Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) in 1997 and 2008 respectively. 

Dr. Martin served in numerous leadership and governance positions throughout his career. He is a Past President of the ACOFP, the Ohio Osteopathic Association, the Ohio Chapter of ACOFP, the Dayton District Academy of Osteopathic Medicine, and the current President of the ACOFP Foundation. He is a former Chief-of-Staff, a member of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Physician-Hospital Steering Committee as well as Chief Medical Officer (2012-2020) at Grandview/Southview Medical Center, now known as Kettering Health Dayton. Additionally, he is a past member of the Alumni Board of Governors for the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Board of Trustees of Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. 

Dr. Martin remains closely tied to academic medicine. He serves as a Clinical Family Medicine Professor at the Ohio Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member of the Adjunct Faculty and Animal Research Review Committee at the University of Dayton. He served as a Principal Investigator for numerous pharmaceutical studies and trials through Providence Health Partners. He is a current Board member of CliniSync, Ohio’s statewide Health Information Partnership and Exchange.
